Lily Schreyer, wife of former Governor General Ed Schreyer (1979 – 1984), donated several original paintings to Habitat for Humanity Canada for fundraising purposes.  Lily Schreyer has been a great supporter of Habitat for Humanity since 1993, when she and her husband joined Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter in building Habitat homes as part of the Jimmy Carter Work Project.

Photographer Peter Zoeller was born in Germany, but works as a photographer in Ireland.  The three photos in this set are of the Lakes of Killarney, the Dingle Peninsula, and Kylemore Abbey.

The photos are still in protective plastic.  Individually the photos measure 10" x 8 1/4" (inches) with matting.

Ashford Castle is located in Cong, Co. Mayo., Ireland.  The picture with matting is 12" x 10" (inches).

Peter Barett's photographs are all limited edition signed and numbered prints, which are made directly from the negative.  This particular photo is of Mendenhall Glacier from Thunder Mountain.  The picture measures 14 x 11 inches, and comes in the original protective plastic.

Nova Scotian photographer Paul Nicholson took this picture of the Halifax skyline at night.  The picture comes framed, and measures 33 x 18 inches framed.

Ken Carlson was born and raised in Minnesota, where he developed a passion for nature and wildlife.  After working several years as a commercial illustrator, Carlson moved to the Rocky Mountains of Montana and began painting wildlife full time.  Now, he resides in Texas, where he continues to paint wildlife and nature scenery.  Carlson has received several awards recognizing the merit of his wildlife painting.

During the 1950s, Seagram commissioned a collection of paintings by prominent Canadian artists of the time.  The collection of ten paintings depicts Canada in the post war years.  In 1983, Seagram celebrated its centennial year by releasing these paintings in a portfolio of prints.  The set comes with an information booklet that gives some biographical information on the aritist, as well as some information on the city that they painted.

The prints measure 14 x 11 inches each.  One of the ten prints is missing from this set.

Maude Goodman (1860-1938) was a Victorian Era British artist, whose work depicts sentimental domestic scenes.

British Columbian artist Nancy O’Toole is known for her colourful acrylic and oil paintings.  Her work depicts mainly florals and landscapes.  O’Toole’s work can be found in galleries across Canada and the United States, as well as in both corporate and private collections around the world.

The Vancouver Aquarium commissioned this print.  It is signed and numbered by the artist. The print comes framed and measures 15 ½ x 12 ½ inches framed.

Tammy Laye is known for her paintings of children and animals.  Laye paints from her studio in Delaware, Ontario, where the surrounding nature, her children, and her pets inspire her work.

This edition of “A new Geographic Grammar…” was published in Edinburgh in 1789.  This rare book is a detailed analysis of the known geography of the time including the then newly independent United States of America and a few lines on the “islands newly discovered in the South Seas” (continental Australia).  It is leather bound, however the leather is not in good condition.  Otherwise the book is in good reading condition with solid binding.  The book comes with all the original pull put maps and diagrams.

Boyds Bears & Friends produced this figurine.  When it was first released in 1998, it sold for $30 new, however it has been known to sell for as high as $117 among collectors.

It is in good condition with some small markings on the rim of the hat. 

This figurine was initially part of a pair, and the manufacturer's suggested price is $70 for both.

Royal Doulton “The Freedoms at Valley Forge” Franklin Mint Heirloom Recommendation

The Royal Doulton “The Freedom at Valley Forge” fine bone china collection is limited edition, and now discontinued.  The collection was produced in 1992, and is the creation of artist Ronald Van Ruyckevelt.  Each plate is a numbered collector piece (no certificate).  The plates measure 8 inches in diameter.  The twelve vibrant coloured plates feature eagles with gold and black patterned borders.

Terry Redlin is one of the most esteemed painters of wildlife and Americana.  He is known for his paintings of the American outdoors and the nostalgic themes in his work.  In 1985, Redlin began creating collector plates and other giftware.

Waterford Crystal was first established in 1783 in Waterford, Ireland.  Waterford crystal is world renown and of the highest quality.  This bowl features a diamond cut pattern, and is part of the Comeragh collection first released in 1974.

The “Bailey & Wixie” figurine was produced by Boyds Bears & Friends in 1994, and is now retired.  In 1994, it retailed for $16, but it has been known to sell for up to $350 among collectors.

The figurine is in excellent condition.

Villeroy & Boch was founded in 1748, as a manufacturer of premium ceramics.  Villeroy & Boch is known for its casual and formal tableware, as well as collector plates.

These three plates were released as the "Exotic Birds" decorative plate collection in 1984.  The collection consists of “Fiery Parakeet”, “Long Billed Cockatoo”, and “Great Billed Black Cockatoo,” which are all based on drawings by John Gould.

These plates retail at $60 each.

 Bob Dylan and harmonica maker Hohner partnered to release a limited edition collection of harmonicas.  Bob Dylan had been a long time customer of Hohner.  The used harmonica features an engraving of Bob Dylan’s signature and comes in a collector’s box.  The inside of the box has an exclusive image of Dylan photographed by famed photographer Daniel Kramer.  The harmonica has a gold-plated reed plate, a select wood come, and stainless steel covers.  The harmonica is tuned to the key of C.
